5
Lessons
5 hrs
Starting at $13.33/month (billed annually)

Overview

The mission to establish churches around the world to extend the kingdom of God is as significant today as it was in the first century; whatever the story of the church that exists today in regions around the world, it is the result of the faith and work of men and women who made a sacrificial commitment to extend the kingdom of God in the earth.

In this course, Bob MacGregor brings decades of experience in pastoring, sending, and planting numerous churches. In addition to addressing the why, and the model/mission of church planting, he covers practical steps to plant such as the call, team, and location (national vs. global) factors.

1. Church Planting - Why Plant Churches?

Bob introduces the importance of Church Planting by answering common questions and identifying God's Mission for believers.

We look at the spiritual condition of America that would be typical of many Western countries today, and we see the need for life giving churches to reach these countries along with other unreached regions of the world. We discover that God was a “ sending God”, that the Father sent the Son who sent the Spirit who sent The Church to fill the earth. The Church must go because it is sent, and its primary task is to make disciples. We then look at the tension between “Rabbit Churches” and “Elephant Churches” and how they both play a role in God’s purpose.

3. Church Planting - What Does A Church Planter Look Like?

In this lesson, Bob teaches about the Church Planter and the Church Plant Team member. What kind of person plants a church? What do they look like? What should be their qualifications? How should they be assessed? What should be the preparation process?

4. Church Planting - Where Do We Start?

In this lesson we take a look at the practical things we need to understand in order for a God-birthed church plant to launch and get established in the region of the country or world where God is sending that team. Bob uses the term God-birthed because not all church plants are birthed by Jesus, the great Head of The Church. In this session, we will also address some wrong reasons why someone desires to plant a church.

5. Church Planting - Words of Wisdom

It is the little things that can make or break a church plant team or a young church. Every church planter wants to succeed. In our focus of planting missional churches, that would mean that we are effectively evangelizing people, making disciples, and establishing faith communities that continue to multiply that vision. This means that we all want to finish well and complete the task God gives us.

In this session will deal with those intangibles that can make or break a young church plant church. Our heart is to see the seed grow into a blooming tree.
